Lonjsko Polje Nature Park is a birdwatching paradise. In 1989 it was listed as IBA (Important Bird Area). In 1993. Lonjsko Polje is enrolled on the list of wetland habitats of international importance by the Ramsar Convention. Also, the Park is listed as the most endangered habitats in the world.
